Description

The finishing salt that earns its place. Kosher flake salt and hardwood smoke — that's the whole label. No anti-caking agents, nothing stripped out. A pinch at the finish and the smoke shows up without taking over: steaks off the grill, roasted vegetables, sliced tomatoes, a fried egg. No MSG. Gluten-free. Veteran-made.

The Finishing Salt That Earns Its Place

Salt is the most important seasoning in the kitchen. SmokED Kosher Salt is kosher flake salt and hardwood smoke. That’s the whole label. No anti-caking agents and nothing stripped out.

A pinch at the end of cooking adds a clean, salty crunch and a light smoky taste. The smoke shows up without taking over.

What’s In It

Kosher flake salt and hardwood smoke. No anti-caking agents. No MSG. Gluten-free.

The Flavor Profile

Clean, bright salt first. Then a gentle, woodsy smoke. The flakes have a light crunch that you can feel when you use it as a finishing salt.

What to Put It On

  • Steaks off the grill: a pinch right before slicing.
  • Dry brining: salt meat the night before for juicier results.
  • Fried eggs and avocado toast: a smoky finish in seconds.
  • Sliced tomatoes: with good olive oil and black pepper.
  • Roasted vegetables: right after they come out of the oven.
  • Caramel and chocolate: sweet and salty with a hint of smoke.
  • Cocktail rims: margaritas and Bloody Marys.

How to Dry Brine a Steak

Pat the steak dry. Sprinkle about 1/2 teaspoon of SmokED Kosher Salt per pound on all sides. Set it on a rack in the fridge, uncovered, for at least 1 hour or up to overnight. The salt pulls out moisture, then that salty moisture soaks back in. The steak is seasoned all the way through and sears with a better crust.

Why Kosher Salt?

Kosher salt has larger grains than table salt. They are easier to pinch and spread evenly, so it is harder to over-salt. If a recipe calls for table salt, use a little more kosher salt to match.

Pro Tip: Make a Texas Rub
