This is a Flake Salt … I use Flake Salt because it has more surface area to smoke. A Flake salt also makes a fantastic Brining Salt for all kinds of meat – especially steak. I utilize a Grinder Top at our table … on eggs in the morning or anywhere else salt can be used for an added depth of flavor on everything.
